Recently, the Photoadventure 2024 seminar and workshop programme went online. Our two seminars can now also be booked. "The right moment": In photography, the right moment is decisive, it determines the image effect to a large extent. This is completely independent of which genre of photography the shot can be categorised as. To illustrate my point, I deliberately choose three motifs from my various fields of work:
- Animal photography: the subject or subjects must display spectacular behaviour typical of the species in order to stand out from the work of other photographers.
- The microphotography of living organisms, cell division or the birth of new life.
- The right moment in landscape photography: How can the special or typical be conveyed to the viewer? What design elements are available for this and what effect do light, the time of day or season have?
To recognise the right moment, we need knowledge, the right planning, a bit of luck and the right intuition (‘gut feeling’) to press the shutter release just before the climax in order to trick our own reaction time and the camera's shutter release delay. Click here for the booking.
The second seminar on Sunday is dedicated to ‘microphotography’: Microphotography is the logical continuation of macrophotography, which in the English-speaking world refers to everything that is imaged on the sensor with magnification beyond the natural size - 1 : 1. Here, we also know what is known as magnifying glass photography, which lies between macro and micro photography.
This offer is intended to appeal to those who are interested in details, be it because of the beautiful shapes or to recognise connections in the structure of the small wonder world. The fascination lies in the discovery of the unknown, in the ability to recognise connections or simply in observing the diverse beauty.
This workshop uses examples to show how the images were created and presents the challenges and solutions, as well as the equipment used. Among the examples will be pictures that can be viewed in the parallel exhibition before or after the workshop. Click here for booking.
The accompanying exhibition also takes up the theme of micro/macro photography, offering the opportunity for leisurely contemplation.
